Cleaning the house
Let’s Be Real. You’ll never see my house in Southern Living and Martha Stewart will never take cleaning tips from me.
Cleaning the house is not my thing.
We all lead busy lives. And unless you have hired a cleaning service, dirty deeds are done dirt cheap. Meaning, you will be cleaning the house.
I’m taking two weeks off with my husband due to recent surgery on his foot.
I’m at his beck-and-call. At least when he is awake. I’ve pampered, shopped, medicated, and loved on this man that I’ve been married to for thirty-one years.
While he takes the second nap of the day, and I secretly wished it was me, I sat down in my favorite chair in the house and logged on. Whew. Time to breathe. That’s when I noticed dark shadows in the recesses of the shelves in my living room. Upon closer inspection, it wasn’t shadows. It’s dust! A lot of dust!
Considering I have two boxers, it’s not uncommon to have dirt tracked in, but good grief, this was a lot of dust!
I looked around for more evidence of my beloved boxers and found this!
Dog art at its finest. Picasso should be jealous.
Evidence of Cooper-Clyde’s dirty jowls on the window ledge while watching birds at the feeder.
These nose-marks are proof that I have nosey dogs and they don’t respect your privacy!
Magic Eraser to the rescue.
I’m surprised to only see TWO doggie toys under the couch.
Why didn’t I notice the dog art on the window? Because I was working on my current novel, book three in the Paisley Series.
How could I have missed the jowl impressions on the window ledge? Perhaps I was networking.
Why did I not get those toys and give them to the dogs? Have you ever squeezed one of those doggie toys? Case closed.
Do I ever dust? Maybe…just maybe I was slaving away on interviewing another author.
When I write, network, or blog, I have a tendency to ignore things in the house. My husband said that includes him, but that’s for another blog.
So, I find myself in a dilemma. Should I clean or do what authors do? I’ll let you answer that!
