Morning Walk

While everyone was still sleeping, I went for a Thanksgiving morning walk. I slipped out to make sure the rain had stopped and saw Cooper-Clyde patiently waiting by the window, making sure I didn’t leave him behind.

I put on my inexpensive sneakers, leashed up Ruby and Cooper-Clyde, and slipped out the front door into the chilly, overcast morning.

This is not my usual routine.

I’m usually rolling over to snuggle with my husband about the time my sneakers made contact with the asphalt.

WHICH WAY DO WE GO, MAMA?

I’m not sure how long the ‘new me’ will last either. Let’s hope it will be a while.

I’ve lost seven pounds in the last thirty days. I’ve drank more water…lots of water! Took vitamins  and watched my carb and sugar intake. Seven pounds in thirty days ain’t too shabby. Even with a few cheat days.

My footsteps and heavy panting of Ruby and Cooper were the only sounds I heard this morning. I was up even before the birds!

Take a look at the foliage in my neighborhood!

The squirrels had no fear of Ruby and Cooper-Clyde when we rounded the corner to our house. It might have had something to do with Cooper-Clyde being pulled by me instead of him pulling me!

We made it home as the birds woke up singing. Cooper-Clyde found the warm bed and took a much needed morning nap.

Bellies will be full of turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, and pumpkin cheese cake very soon. Perhaps the top button on some jeans will be undone, and an afternoon nap taken. I just might take another walk…maybe.

I’m thankful to have a roof over my head, food on the table, family to share it with, and good walking shoes.

What are the simple things that you are thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving!
