I MADE THE LEAP. I’M A SELF-PUBLISHED AUTHOR.

In all honesty, I never thought I’d see the light-of-day that I was brave enough to be a self-published author with Amazon. This is a HUGE step for me considering that in 2015, I didn’t even want my husband to read a few sentences that I’d written down on a scrap piece of paper. Now, I’m a self-published author!

I had many people ask me why I chose this path when I was with a traditional publisher. So, I figured it was about time that I shared my story.

Why self publish?

There are amazing perks to having a traditional publisher pick up your novel: More exposure, someone helping you market your novel, teaching you the way, less expensive in the start up, etc. Those are just a few.

Let’s take a look at why I chose to self-publish: More control of book design, layout, where it’s marketed at, how I want to market it, pricing, promoting it, ordering books when they are needed, and royalties.

At this time in my career, I was ready for a change, and to gain control of my budding career as a self-published author.

I even decided to have new covers designed. This is book one in the Paisley Series.

This is book two in the Paisley Series. Both designs are by Kallen Lunt.

I just completed my first week with KDP Select and had over 700 downloads of my ebooks! The ebooks are now priced at just .99 cents and the paperbacks are $9.99.

You can download the books here and here.

This is a fresh start for this author! This week I order books and then it’s ‘on-like-donkey-kong’. Does anyone say that anymore? Anyway, check out the links above and leave reviews! They are the icing-on-the-cake for authors.

See ya soon,

Zelle
