About Me -Zelle Andrews, author
About Me: Hi! I’m Zelle Andrews, author of Paisley Memories. I’m a southern girl at heart. Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Go Noles! Sarah, my daughter, thinks I ‘stole’ the name ‘Zelle’ from my grandmother, but I like to think I’m only borrowing it as a pen name.
My first endeavor at publishing was at the age of twelve. A short poem I wrote in middle school was selected to be published in the Tallahassee Democrat. I found the yellowed newspaper clipping years later that my mother had saved.
Paisley Memories started on a scrap piece of paper. Just notes at first, then it became a couple of chapters. It was my first Tallahassee Writers Association Conference that made me take writing serious. The novel evolved over the next four years and found a home with Southern Yellow Pine Publishing.
My interests change direction like the wind, but the one that has stayed true is my joy for writing. Paisley Memories: The Beginning of Me, is my debut novel. Dancing With Dandelions, the second book in the Paisley Series, is scheduled for publication late 2017. Notes are coming together for a third in the Paisley Series, with many more stories to come.
I write southern, humorous fiction and live near the Florida coast with my family. I’m a member of Tallahassee Writers Association.
THINGS I LOVE: Acrylic painting is the new love in my life. Be sure to keep an eye on this site for more of my art, as well as my daughters. I like cold sand from the beach between my toes. Movies that make me laugh until I can’t breathe. Optimistic people. Giggling babies. My boxers, Ruby and Cooper. Low utility bills. Chocolate. Home grown tomatoes and farm fresh eggs. Rainy afternoon’s with a good book. Rainy nights with a good book. A GOOD BOOK!
THINGS I DETEST: Stress. Being allergic to shellfish. Rudeness. Cockroaches. People who complain. A CD my husband has of a famous 70s band that sounds like a record skipping. Coming home after a long day and discovering we have no dog food.
PLACES I WANT TO GO AND THINGS I WANT TO DO: Skydiving. Whale watching. Fossil Hunting. Win the lotto and have stupid money. I would love to go back in time and see the moment that my parents met. Norway and Rome.
