Meet Ruby and Cooper-Clyde
Meet Ruby and Cooper-Clyde.
These are my two boxers.
I didn’t start out wanting two dogs. Our home was quite full already with a cantankerous, senior cat. Life has a way of surprising you with special gifts.
A friend texted a picture of this sweet fur baby while I was home watching television one afternoon. She explained that the previous owners who adopted her were not able to keep her. It took my husband and I all of two minutes to say yes.
Ruby settled in perfect with our family, like she’d always been one of us. House-training was a breeze. Aside from the occasional missing shoe, life was grand. The craziness began.
A friend-of-a-friend mentioned that someone was trying to rehome a boxer boy. I immediately said NO. I didn’t want a boy. If a dog has an accident in the house I wanted it to hit the floor and only the floor, NOTHING ELSE. Not the couch, not the shelves, and definitely not the bed.
My husband said, “Let’s just see the dog”. Our first impression of Cooper-Clyde was a muscle-bound little dynamite of a dog. Ruby was infatuated with him. Cooper-Clyde was infatuated with Charlotte our cat. He’d never seen one… Charlotte let it be known, very quickly, what she would and wouldn’t put up with.
Cooper-Clyde was happy to obey after she swatted him just once. Cooper-Clyde trampled all over us, and Ruby. He walked on egg-shells if Charlotte was in his path. Except this once…he really wanted his bed.
Charlotte is no longer with our family and we now just have two dogs. Ruby and Cooper-Clyde.
Ruby is my little Diva, and tattles on Cooper-Clyde.and Cooper-Clyde is my Dennis-the-Menace.
Our life is a wonderful, hilarious mess with these two and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Thanks. Unfortunately, Charlotte is no longer with us, but she has left some wonderful memories.
That’s a lovely story. I’ve often found that boxers are very unique, “dynamite” characters (in a good way)!
Thank you. The things my two boxers have in common is that they love their family and love to cuddle.
