It’s a Pink Peacock Kind of Day.
Are You Ready To Paint?
I woke up this morning bleary-eyed and dragging, with a million things to do. I dressed in a flash and raced out the door…except, it started to sprinkle.
Was I going to let that slow me down? No way.
I raced around town completing errands and scrambled through the front door as clouds burst open and rain poured on me.
Hmm… What is one to do on a rainy day?
Sleep.
Read.
Sleep.
Work on my next novel in the Paisley Series….
Did I say sleep?
Sarah wasn’t going to let me do any of that.
It became a Pink Peacock Kind of Day! She prepared to paint and placed my wicker basket of paints on the counter. Courtesy of half price sales at Michaels.
“I want to paint a pink peacock!” Sarah said. Her determination to convince me that we NEED to do this, was as fierce as her competing in the Special Olympics.
Sarah painted a pink peacock. An AMAZING Pink Peacock!!
We enjoyed listening to Clannad’s Greatest Hits, and the pink paint flowed… as easily as our conversation. We watched a tutorial on youtube. Thank you sweet baby Jesus for youtube tutorials…and the pause button.
I found myself repeatedly saying, “No, don’t hold the paint brush like that, hold it like this…” Sarah let out a huge sigh. “You’re making me nervous.”
Isn’t painting supposed to be relaxing??
This is one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments. Sarah knows what she is doing.
A MASTERPIECE WAS CREATED.
Pssst. She let me do the outline for the body… and paint her name.
If you find yourself stuck home on a rainy Saturday, or any day. Don’t let it go to waste…PAINT! You just might have the next masterpiece in your house. Or at best…A Pink Peacock.
As Sarah always says, DEAR SATURDAY, I LOVE YOU!
